Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin accuses Prime Minister Modi of undermining states and cautions against the push for delimitation.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin Calls for Complete Repeal of FCRA Amendment Bill, Labels It a 'Direct Assault' on Minority Institutions.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that no previous prime minister has “trampled” the states as he has.

While addressing an election rally here, Stalin mentioned the display of black flags across the state by his party to signify strong opposition to the proposed delimitation exercise.

“This is just the trailer; Delhi should not expect to see the main movie,” he stated.
Additionally, the CM remarked: “Only those who are subservient will default to Delhi’s remote control; self-respecting Tamils refuse to submit. Let’s put an end to the arrogance of the BJP, which disregards the voices of the southern states.” He noted that while the country has had many prime ministers, he alleged, “none has oppressed the states like PM Modi.” The BJP-led central government’s assertions about women’s reservation are mere theatrics, aimed at fulfilling the RSS’s desire for “one country, one government.” This is why the Constitution is being undermined; how can Tamil Nadu accept it? During his time as Gujarat chief minister, Modi advocated strongly for state rights, asserting that 50% of the Union government’s tax revenues should be allocated to the states.

He argued that states ought to be granted greater authority and opposed the centralization of power within the Union government. Yet now, PM Modi is stripping away state rights and transferring them to the union, effectively burying the principle of federalism.

The CM accused AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami of being the sole supporter of this unfair delimitation, labeling the opposition leader’s stance as a “political insult.”
