Mumbai Indians (MI) batsman Quinton de Kock celebrated his third century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. Coming in as a substitute for the injured Rohit Sharma, de Kock made an immediate impact, scoring 112 runs off 60 balls. He has been a crucial player for MI during their title wins in 2019 and 2020 and returned to the franchise for ₹1 crore in the auction last December.
In the 2022 mega auction, LSG signed de Kock for ₹6.75 crore, where he spent three productive years. He then moved to KKR for ₹3.4 crore last year but was released, leading MI to acquire him again as a backup for Ryan Rickelton.

De Kock’s innings included eight boundaries and seven sixes, remaining unbeaten until the end.
Importantly, he balanced aggression with strike rotation, especially after the early losses of Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav. His presence anchored the innings, allowing MI to post a respectable total of 195/6 on a challenging pitch at home.
