The AM Green India Golf Premier League (IGPL) has unveiled the complete rosters for all 10 franchises during a launch event in New Delhi, marking a significant milestone in the introduction of India’s first professional team-based golf league.
The squads were revealed by IGPL Co-Founder Yuvraj Singh and CEO Uttam Singh Mundy, setting an exciting tone for the league’s inaugural season with a structure designed to merge individual brilliance with team rivalry.
Yuvraj Singh endorsed the innovative format, emphasizing its potential to enhance the sport’s appeal.
“The team aspect will add excitement to the game with its quick pace. I am excited about the plans to elevate the sport, which has immense potential,” he remarked.
The announcement received strong support from the government, with Union Minister for Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat underscoring IGPL’s promise to invest $2 billion into golf tourism infrastructure.
“The Indian Golf Premier League’s commitment to inject $2 billion for golf tourism infrastructure is more than just a sporting endeavor; it is a strategic move for Brand India. Countries like Mauritius, Vietnam, and South Africa have shown how golf can elevate areas into sought-after destinations, drawing affluent visitors and generating year-round tourism income. IGPL is positioning India to lead this narrative in Asia,” the minister stated, adding, “Prime Minister Modi’s vision for Viksit Bharat 2047 requires us to create infrastructure that attracts global investments and fosters sustainable employment.”
The IGPL’s inaugural season will showcase 15 events through 2026, comprising 10 held in franchise home bases across India and five international locations, with Mauritius, South Africa, and Congo among the selected venues.
Each franchise will consist of four players vying for an individual prize purse of ₹1.5 crore per event while also impacting team standings, considering the top two scores from each team daily. Points earned throughout the season will identify the top three teams.

IGPL CEO Mundy emphasized the league’s goal of creating pathways for Indian golfers on the global stage. “We are hosting 15 events spread across the year. The intervals between IGPL events will enable our players to participate in international competitions on the International Series, Asian Tour, and other global Tours. Our aim is to see them reach elite levels, including the International Series and the LIV Golf League,” he noted.
Mundy also discussed the league’s commitment to expanding the sport’s reach in India.
“We will boost the golf ecosystem by increasing the number of golf courses and driving ranges to ensure the sport is accessible to everyone. Our ‘Golf on Wheels’ initiative will deploy large vehicles equipped with equipment and coaches to schools to promote the game at the grassroots level,” he explained.
