Raghav Chadha Releases Video Highlighting Rajya Sabha Debate Following AAP Snub | WATCH
A significant political shift occurred within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on April 2, as the party ousted Raghav Chadha from his role as Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha. This decision has led to speculation regarding possible internal conflicts within the organization.

Ashok Mittal, an AAP MP, has been appointed as the new Deputy Leader in the Upper House, taking over from Chadha.

Shortly after the announcement, Chadha seemingly addressed the situation indirectly by sharing a nearly three-minute video montage of his speeches and activities in the Rajya Sabha.
The video showcases various issues that the 37-year-old parliamentarian has brought up in recent parliamentary sessions.

The clips feature Chadha tackling a multitude of public matters, such as air pollution, escalating airfares, the rights and working conditions for gig-economy workers, and the regulations surrounding prepaid mobile data plans.

The compilation includes brief snippets from his speeches where he discusses topics affecting regular citizens as well as more extensive economic issues.

One segment addresses the expiration rules for mobile data packages, while another focuses on labor protections for gig workers associated with quick-commerce platforms.

Chadha did not add any caption to the video, choosing only to use a ‘nazar’ amulet emoji while sharing it on social media. This amulet is a Mediterranean talisman thought by some to provide protection against the “evil eye” and absorb negative energy.

Removal from party post fuels speculation

Earlier that day, the party, under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, officially notified the Rajya Sabha Secretariat about the leadership change.

The letter indicated that Chadha had been removed from his position as Deputy Leader and requested that he not be given speaking time in Parliament, according to News18.

AAP currently holds 10 seats in the Rajya Sabha, with seven from Punjab and three from Delhi.

This development comes amid swirling rumors regarding Chadha’s standing within the party. Speculation about a potential rift increased after he was omitted from AAP’s list of star campaigners for the upcoming elections in Assam.

While the party has not officially stated the reasons for his removal, reports suggest it may relate to allegations of indiscipline and failure to conform to the party’s directives.

Notably, Chadha had remained quiet following the discharge of Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the liquor excise policy-linked money laundering investigation.
