In a communication to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam joint general secretary C T R Nirmal Kumar raised concerns regarding a purported security breach involving Vijay during his election campaign in Perambur, urging the minister’s immediate “attention” to the matter.

On Wednesday, TVK claimed that there was insufficient security for party leader Vijay, who is under ‘Y’ category protection, during his campaign in Perambur following the submission of his nomination papers on March 30.
Nirmal Kumar specifically called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the security deficiencies for Vijay during the campaign and requested that the minister ensure proper police protection and traffic management during Vijay’s activities and public engagements across the state, as stated by the TVK.
The Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu are scheduled for April 23.
