2025 PGA Championship purse, payouts: How much did Scottie Scheffler earn for his win at Quail Hollow?

He didn’t make it easy on himself, but Scottie Scheffler picked up his dominant win on Sunday after all.

Scheffler, after nearly blowing a five-shot lead, rallied late to pick up a commanding win at Quail Hollow Club in North Carolina and claimed the PGA Championship. Along with the iconic Wanamaker Trophy, Scheffler is also taking home a $3.42 million check.

The PGA of America announced Saturday that it offered a record $19 million purse, which sent the winner home with a $3.42 million check. The purse is nearly in line with the largest offered on the PGA Tour this season. By comparison, the Masters offered a $21 million last month, a record for the event that sent Rory McIlroy home with a $4.2 million check for his win. The Players Championship is the largest offered on Tour at $25 million.

Last season, the PGA Championship had an $18.5 million purse, which beat only the British Open among the four major championships. That was the largest amount offered at a PGA Championship in history, and allowed Xander Schauffele to take home $3.3 million for his win.

Scheffler posted a final-round 71 on Sunday, and he fended off a brief push from Jon Rahm midway through the day. Scheffler, who started the day with a three-shot lead over the field, pushed that to five before seeing it disappear completely as Rahm became co-leader as Scheffler made the turn. Scheffler eventually found his footing again, and rattled off a pair of late birdies while Rahm fell apart, to claim the win. It marks his third career major championship, and his first outside of Augusta National.

Here’s a look at how much money Scheffler and the rest of the field earned in North Carolina.
