On the inaugural day of the World Pickleball League (WPBL) 2026, the Bengaluru Jawans and Chennai Super Champs triumphed over Pune United and Dilli Dillwale with scores of 15-0 and 12-3 respectively.

The Jawans, who are the reigning champions, secured 15 points by winning all five matches. Meanwhile, the Chennai Super Champs showcased their strength, with Dilli’s lone victory occurring in the men’s singles, where Vien Hien Troung defeated Ly Hoang Nam with a score of 15-12.

Domenika Turkovic set the pace for the match by delivering an impressive 26-3 defeat to Alejandra Lopez in the women’s singles.  The results in mixed doubles, women’s doubles, and men’s doubles further reinforced Chennai’s dominance, highlighted by fan favorite Tanner Tomassi teaming up with Do Minh Quan to overcome Erik Lange and Max Manthou with a score of 16-7.

Earlier that evening, Bengaluru continued their momentum from last season, winning all five matches with flair.

Katerina Stewart, the retained star and previous Tournament MVP, was pivotal to Jawans’ success. She achieved a remarkable 30-3 victory over Katie Morris in women’s singles and later teamed up with Brooke Revulta to secure a 17-8 win in women’s doubles against the pair of Madalina Grigoriu and Sarah Jane Lim.
