Uttar Pradesh Tourism to Highlight Attractions for Visitors at PATA Travel Mart in Bangkok
The Uttar Pradesh government is set to display the state’s tourism and investment opportunities at the forthcoming Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart, taking place in Bangkok from August 26 to 28. As a prominent international tourism platform, PATA assists tourist boards in drawing global visitors. In a statement, the UP government noted that this initiative seeks to “enhance the tourism potential and economy of the state significantly.”

The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department will establish a pavilion to showcase “its cultural, spiritual, and historical richness.” Key destinations highlighted at PATA will include Sarnath, Kushinagar, and Shravasti within the Buddhist Circuit, alongside sacred cities like Varanasi, Ayodhya, and the Prayagraj Mahakumbh site.

The pavilion will feature an interactive navigation panel that provides dynamic visuals of the state’s iconic attractions. An innovative Augmented Reality feature will also enable visitors to take selfies with digital backgrounds featuring six prominent state locations.

In addition to tourism promotion, the stall will showcase the region’s traditional crafts as part of the Centre’s One District One Product scheme. Visitors will also gain insights into the architectural and spiritual heritage of ancient temples through engaging visual presentations.

Simultaneously, the Yogi Adityanath-led government will host a one-day roadshow in Bangkok, aimed at attracting over 100 participants, including travel agents, media representatives, and tourism influencers.

To enhance its visibility, Uttar Pradesh will run 30-second tourism advertisements during prime-time slots over three days on three major Thai television and radio channels.

“Additionally, 10 key locations in Bangkok, including airports, metro stations, malls, and bus terminals, will display the promos 15 times a day over three days. Two mainstream and two travel-related magazines and newspapers will also be partnered with the promotion campaign for UP’s tourism sector,” the statement added.

The promotional campaign will be supported by slogans such as “Uttar Pradesh: The Land Where Lord Buddha Lived and Preached” and “Begin Your Bodhi Journey in Uttar Pradesh,” aimed at both travelers and potential investors.

Participation in the PATA Travel Mart is part of the state’s broader strategy to establish itself as a premier global tourism destination, officials stated.
