On Saturday (April 19), Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray firmly stated that his party will resist the imposition of Hindi as a compulsory language in Maharashtra, following the state government’s recent decision to designate Hindi as a mandatory third language for pupils from classes 1 to 5. Thackeray reiterated that while his party does not oppose the Hindi language, the enforcement raises questions.
