Trump reveals the establishment of a Gaza 'Peace Council' as plans for post-war governance develop.
US President Donald Trump has declared the establishment of a Gaza “board of peace,” as part of a US-supported initiative to resolve the conflict in Palestine.

“I am deeply honored to announce that THE BOARD OF PEACE has been established,” Trump shared on his Truth Social platform. He indicated that the members of this body will be revealed “shortly.”

“I can confidently assert that it is the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever convened at any time, in any place,” Trump stated.

The board’s announcement followed the formation of a 15-member Palestinian technocratic committee that will oversee daily governance in post-war Gaza. This committee will operate under the oversight of the board of peace.

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff described it as the initiation of Phase Two of the President’s 20-point strategy to conclude the Gaza conflict, transitioning from ceasefire to demilitarization, technocratic governance, and reconstruction.

“Phase Two establishes a transitional technocratic Palestinian administration in Gaza, the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), and commences the full demilitarization and reconstruction of Gaza, focusing on the disarmament of all unauthorized personnel. The US anticipates that Hamas will fully meet its obligations, including the immediate return of the final deceased hostage. Noncompliance will result in serious repercussions,” he posted on X.

The US-backed peace initiative for Gaza was first implemented on October 10, 2025, facilitating the return of all hostages held by Hamas and ending the hostilities in the besieged region.
