“They mention that aspirin is beneficial for thinning the blood, and I prefer not to have thick blood flowing through my heart,” Trump remarked to the publication in an interview released on Thursday. “I desire smooth, thin blood circulating through my heart. Does that make sense?”
Trump, who is 79 years old, is the second-oldest individual to assume the presidency, trailing his Democratic predecessor, President Joe Biden, who abandoned his 2024 reelection campaign amid concerns regarding his fitness for the role and was 82 at the time he left office a year ago.

Trump’s health has garnered attention lately due to bruises seen on his hands and a reported MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scan he underwent in October, alongside instances where the Republican president closed his eyes during public appearances.
According to the Mayo Clinic, daily aspirin use can reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke for individuals over 60, with a typical low dose being 81 milligrams.
The president’s physician, Sean Barbabella, informed the Journal that Trump takes 325 milligrams of aspirin each day for heart health.
The bruising is attributed to his frequent handshakes, as noted by the White House, which indicated last month that the MRI was done as a precaution.

When questioned about the MRI, both Trump and Barbabella told the Journal that the president actually underwent a CT scan.
Barbabella explained that Trump’s doctors initially planned to perform either an MRI or CT scan but opted for the latter “to definitively rule out any cardiovascular concerns.”
The results showed no abnormalities, according to Barbabella.
