Iran US Israel War Live Updates: Trump indicates US could withdraw from direct involvement in the war with Iran within a couple of weeks, pledging to complete the mission without relying on any agreement with Tehran.
During a press briefing at the Oval Office, Trump stated that the situation could de-escalate soon, emphasizing that America’s withdrawal would not hinge on a diplomatic resolution with Tehran.
“All I need to do is leave Iran, and that will happen very soon, leading to their downfall. We’re finishing the job, and I believe it will take maybe two weeks, or possibly just a few days longer,” he remarked, according to news agency AFP. “They don’t need to strike a deal with me… Whether there’s a deal or not is irrelevant,” he added.
In related news, Joint US-Israeli strikes have targeted pharmaceutical facilities and steel mills in Isfahan and Farokhshahr, as reported by Al Jazeera.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi shared with Al Jazeera that he holds little optimism regarding discussions with Washington, noting that, despite exchanged messages, no real negotiations are taking place.
Simultaneously, US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth cautioned that the next few days could prove critical.
