He further noted that such meetings underscore “our collective commitment” to transform Jammu and Kashmir into a premier tourism destination that highlights its cultural wealth, natural beauty, and the spirit of its people.

The discussions come at a pivotal moment for the region’s tourism industry, which has been struggling in the wake of the 22 April terror attack in Pahalgam that resulted in 26 fatalities. This incident has overshadowed the Union Territory’s travel sector, leading authorities to reinforce both security and promotional initiatives.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has recently ramped up outreach across different areas of Kashmir, conducting meetings and public engagements intended to reassure visitors and stakeholders about safety and enhancements in infrastructure.
During his visit, Minister Shekhawat made time to visit the esteemed shrine of Mata Kheer Bhawani. Additionally, he is anticipated to explore the historic Martand Sun Temple and prominent tourist spots including Pahalgam and Betaab Valley in Anantnag district.
