This Week in Tech: Motorola Launches Signature and Razr Fold; Redmi Unveils Pad 2 Pro 5G

The past week was bustling for technology lovers, showcasing a range of smartphone, wearable, and consumer tech launches. On January 23, Motorola unveiled its ultra-premium Signature smartphone alongside the Moto Watch, both promising top-tier performance and wellness tracking features.

In addition, Lava, an Indian brand, introduced the Blaze Duo 3 featuring a distinctive dual-screen design. Good news for gamers came with the launch of the gaming-oriented Red Magic 11 Air in China. Samsung also made waves with its Sound Tower speakers, and Fujifilm revealed the Instax Mini Evo Cinema, among several other tech releases this week.

Motorola Signature

Launched in India on January 23, the Motorola Signature is a high-end flagship smartphone powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, boasting up to 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB of storage, a 6.8-inch LTPO Extreme AMOLED display, and a trio of 50-megapixel cameras.

It supports Dolby Vision/HDR10+, features a sleek design available in Pantone Martini Olive or Pantone Carbon finishes, and includes a robust 5,200 mAh silicon-carbon battery with capabilities for 90 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. The starting price in India is around ₹59,999, while the premium version is priced at roughly ₹69,999.

Lava Blaze Duo 3

The Indian brand Lava has launched the Blaze Duo 3, showcasing a large 6.67-inch front AMOLED display paired with a 1.6-inch back AMOLED panel for notifications and quick previews. It features an 8MP front camera and a 50MP Sony IMX752 rear camera. Running on Android 15, it is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7060 processor. Retailing at approximately ₹16,999, the device is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging, and includes amenities like stereo speakers and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Realme Neo 8

Introduced in China, the Realme Neo 8 is equipped with a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, offering up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, alongside a 6.78-inch AMOLED display featuring a refresh rate of 165Hz. Its triple camera setup includes a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel front camera, and an 8,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Priced at roughly ₹33,000 for the base version, it runs on Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0 and boasts impressive durability with IP66/IP68/IP69 certifications.

Oppo Reno 15 FS

Powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, the Oppo Reno 15 FS 5G features 8GB RAM and 512GB of storage, coupled with a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display supporting a refresh rate of 120Hz. The device includes a 50-megapixel primary rear sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 50-megapixel front camera capable of 4K video recording. Running on Android 16 with ColorOS 16, it houses a 6,500 mAh battery with 80W fast charging, available in numerous European regions in Aurora Blue and Twilight Blue.

Oppo A6 5G

Designed for extensive daily usage, the Oppo A6 5G is a 5G-ready smartphone featuring a substantial 7,000 mAh battery and 45 W fast charging support. It includes a dual rear camera system with a 50 MP primary sensor and a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Running on Android 15 with ColorOS, it is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 series processor and offers configurations with up to 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage in various colors.

NexPhone

The newly-released NexPhone can transition between mobile and desktop-like experiences, utilizing multi-boot features that support Android 16, Linux, and Windows 11. It includes a Qualcomm Dragonwing QCM6490 processor, 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, a 6.58-inch 120 Hz display, a 64 MP dual rear camera system, and a 5,000 mAh battery. Pre-orders are being accepted at a price of $549 with a refundable deposit of $199, and global availability is anticipated to commence in Q3 2026.

Red Magic 11 Air

The Red Magic 11 Air is tailored for gaming, featuring a large 6.85-inch 1.5K 144Hz display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, and two active cooling fans under its ICE Magic cooling system. It offers professional shoulder trigger buttons, a hefty 7,000 mAh battery with 120W fast charging, and a dual camera system featuring a 50 MP primary sensor and an under-display selfie camera.
