The Consumer Electronics Show has consistently delivered surprises, and in 2026, one of the most peculiar highlights wasn’t a car, robot, or screen, but a lollipop.

Named ‘Lollipop Star’, this candy was introduced at CES by Lava Tech Brands, promising a novel experience: music that plays inside the listener’s head while they enjoy it. This innovative product uses bone-conduction technology, eliminating the need for conventional speakers or headphones.

At first look, Lollipop Star appears to be a typical candy-on-a-stick. However, inside, the edible topping is coupled with a small electronic module embedded in the handle. Rather than transmitting sound through the air, the device generates vibrations that travel through the user’s jawbone. When the lollipop is bitten with the back teeth, these vibrations move to the inner ear, producing the sensation of music playing internally.
All the electronics are contained within the stick, featuring a rounded base that holds the power switch and vibration mechanism. Once powered on, the music begins as soon as the user takes a bite. The result is a brief, private auditory experience delivered via a sweet treat. While the candy is being enjoyed, the electronic base can be reused.

Lava Tech Brands has made it clear that Lollipop Star is intended as a novelty item. Representatives at CES mentioned that the aim was more about fun and exploration than achieving high-fidelity sound. Each lollipop is preloaded with a single music track that cannot be played separately from the candy itself.

For its launch, the company has matched specific flavors with unique songs from popular artists. The debut lineup includes a peach-flavored lollipop featuring Ice Spice, a blueberry variant paired with Akon, and a lime-flavored option starring Armani White. Priced at $8.99, Lollipop Star is set to be available for purchase after CES, with sales through the company’s website.
