Techno Electric Secures RailTel Contract for 10MW Data Center Project in Noida, UP
Power infrastructure company, Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd, announced on Tuesday (June 3) that it has been chosen by RailTel Corporation of India Ltd as its Managed Service Data Centre Partner for the establishment of a 10MW data centre in Noida.

“…this is to inform that Techno Electric &Engineering Company Ltd (Techno Electric) has been appointed by RailTel Corporation of India Ltd, a “Navratna” Central Public Sector Enterprise, as its Managed Service Data Centre Partner through an open tender process on a revenue sharing basis to design, build, finance, and operate a 10MW Data Centre in phases on RailTel’s land in Noida, contingent upon fulfilling certain conditions in the Letter of Intent and the signing of the Contract Agreement,” according to a stock exchange filing.

The project will be rolled out in phases on land owned by RailTel, a “Navratna” Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways. The contract has been awarded via an open tender process based on revenue sharing.

The final contract is contingent upon meeting specific conditions outlined in the Letter of Intent, followed by the formal signing of the Contract Agreement. The proposed data centre is set to be implemented over a 30-year period, including a 24-month timeline for implementation. The duration may be extended upon mutual agreement between RailTel and Techno Electric.

The specifics of the project size are yet to be determined as the revenue model is linked to a fixed percentage of shared revenue, the company noted.

In explaining the timing of the announcement, Techno Electric indicated that it typically reveals such developments upon the signing of the final contract. This announcement was described as a strategic decision rather than an oversight.

Shares of Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd closed at ₹1,458.00, up by ₹15.75, or 1.09%, on the BSE.
