He committed to enacting various welfare initiatives across sectors such as education, industry, and agriculture if the DMK secures victory, characterizing his party’s electoral promises as a “superstar.”
He mentioned that the coupon for women could be utilized to acquire household appliances like TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, mixies, microwave ovens, induction stoves, or other electronic goods for replacements.
“This innovative Illatharasi scheme will be rolled out. Under this initiative, women from families not falling under the income tax category will receive a one-time coupon worth ₹8,000 to purchase these electronic products from local shops,” Stalin stated.
‘Illatharasi’ in Tamil translates to “queen of the house,” indicating a woman as the head of the family.
Highlighting a range of welfare measures aimed at women, girl students, farmers, and fishermen, he said: “I have outlined a few key points.” “Typically, the DMK election manifesto is the centerpiece in Tamil Nadu elections, but now the Dravidian model 2.0 election manifesto takes the spotlight,” Stalin, expressing confidence in winning over 200 out of 234 seats in the April 23 elections, remarked.
The ruling party also proposed raising the coverage for treatment under the CM Health Insurance scheme to ₹10 lakhs by adjusting the annual income ceiling, increasing pensions for the elderly, widows, and unmarried women above 50 years to ₹2,000 per month, and doubling the monthly allowance under the Kalaignar Magalir Urumai Thogai to ₹2,000, with additional women becoming eligible for this scheme.
Furthermore, plans were announced to extend the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme up to Class 8 and provide free modern electric pump sets with no meters to over 20 lakh farmers receiving free electricity among other initiatives.
