Sundram Fasteners Reports 9% Increase in Q1 Profit to ₹151 Crore; Allocates ₹400 Crore for Expansion Capital Expenditure
Sundram Fasteners Ltd announced a 9% rise in standalone net profit, reaching ₹150.97 crore for the June quarter of the current financial year.

The company recorded a standalone profit after tax (PAT) of ₹138.35 crore during the first quarter of FY26.

For the quarter being analyzed, revenue from operations was ₹1,614.76 crore, reflecting a 20% increase from ₹1,350.17 crore in Q1 FY26, as reported by the company.

To foster long-term growth, the organization has allocated ₹400 crore for capital expenditures aimed at capacity expansion initiatives. These investments are anticipated to significantly bolster the company’s expertise in meeting growing customer demands across various sectors, including Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles (ICEVs), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs), and Electric Vehicles (EVs).

The auto component manufacturer’s domestic sales for the June quarter rose by 16% to ₹1,084.31 crore from ₹930.91 crore in the same quarter of the previous year.

Export sales during this quarter increased by 23% to ₹465.97 crore compared to ₹379.14 crore in the same period last fiscal.

“We have commenced the new financial year on a solid basis, supported by improving business conditions across critical markets and the ongoing confidence of our customers. Despite a changing global landscape, we are optimistic about the steady recovery in export demand and the sustained strength of domestic markets,” stated Arathi Krishna, Managing Director of Sundram Fasteners.

The company is committed to continuous investments in technology, manufacturing excellence, and customer partnerships, allowing it to respond effectively to changing market dynamics, according to Krishna.

“We are also steadily advancing our presence in high-potential non-automotive sectors such as aerospace, wind energy, railways, and defense, which will further enhance the resilience and diversity of our business,” she noted.

Within its Fasteners Division, an investment of around ₹250 crore has been earmarked to bolster the company’s foothold in the expanding wind energy sector, as well as the aerospace and space industries, the statement indicated.

Additionally, the company plans to allocate about ₹100 crore to its Cast and machined assemblies business to improve its capacity for manufacturing high-value precision-engineered assemblies, said Sundram Fasteners.

These investments collectively illustrate the company’s strategic focus on venturing into adjacent product categories, enhancing its technological capabilities, and developing diversified revenue streams across automotive, industrial, renewable energy, and emerging mobility sectors, it stated.

Noting that new trends in mobility continue to emerge in the global automotive landscape, the company remarked that while US OEMs are increasingly focusing on hybrids, their European counterparts are rapidly transitioning towards electric vehicles.

Given its strong position in both markets, the company believes it is well-equipped to capitalize on these emerging opportunities through its broad product range and established customer relationships.

Furthermore, the organization is advancing its digital transformation strategy by implementing Industry 4.0 technologies such as AI, ML, IoT, and robotics across the production processes, it added.
