The 25-year-old Yadav achieved a personal best by launching his javelin to 85.16m, finishing behind the reigning Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem, who took gold with a best throw of 86.40.
Hailing from a farming family in Khekra village near Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, Yadav previously had a personal best of 84.39m.

Yashvir Singh also shone, achieving a personal best of 82.57m to secure a fifth-place finish.
Earlier in the day, Kujur kicked off India’s account on the final day of competitions with a bronze medal in the men’s 200m final.
Kujur delivered an exceptional performance, setting a new national record of 20.32 seconds.
The 21-year-old improved upon his previous mark of 20.40s, established earlier this year at the National Federation Senior Athletics Competition.

Japan’s Towa Uzawa clinched gold with a time of 20.12s, while Saudi Arabia’s Abdulaziz Abdu I Atafi took silver with 20.31s.
Asian Games medallist Vithya smoothly navigated the 400m hurdles to earn a podium finish.
The 26-year-old Tamil Nadu athlete clocked 56.46s to secure her place.
China’s Mo Jiadie won gold with a time of 55.31s, narrowly beating Bahrain’s Oluwakemi Adekoya, who finished second with 55.32s. Anu Raghavan, the other Indian competitor, placed seventh with a time of 57.46s.
In the women’s 200m final, Jyoti Yarraji came in fifth with a time of 23.47s, while Nithya Gandhe finished seventh in 23.90s. Yarraji had previously won gold in the women’s 100m hurdles earlier in the week.
