Red Cross Hospital: Minimum of 21 Palestinians Dead en Route to Gaza Aid Facility
On Sunday, June 1, at least 21 individuals lost their lives while seeking aid from an Israeli-supported foundation in the Gaza Strip, as reported by a nearby hospital operated by the Red Cross that received the bodies.

Hospital officials indicated that an additional 175 individuals were injured but did not specify who was responsible for the gunfire. An Associated Press journalist witnessed numerous individuals receiving treatment at the facility.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s aid distribution efforts have experienced significant disorder, with several witnesses claiming that Israeli troops fired upon the crowds near the distribution points. Prior to Sunday, local health officials reported that at least six people had died and over 50 were injured.
While the foundation asserts that the private security personnel safeguarding its locations did not fire at the crowds, the Israeli military has admitted to firing warning shots.

The foundation did not promptly reply to a request for comment. In a previous statement, it mentioned distributing 16 truckloads of aid early Sunday “without incident” and dismissed claims of “false reporting regarding deaths, mass injuries, and chaos.”
