Real Madrid confirm signing of Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen

Real Madrid have completed the signing of Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen.

The Spain international completed his move on Saturday and pens a deal with the capital club until 2030.

Huijsen only joined Bournemouth last summer but has since progressed to become one of the Premier League’s outstanding centre-backs.

The Cherries confirmed in a statement that the Liga side had activated a £50m release clause in his contract this week and will officially join Real Madrid at the end of the season and in time for the Club World Cup.

The 20-year-old becomes their first official signing in the post Carlo Ancelotti-era with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Benfica full-back Álvaro Carreras set to join in the coming weeks.
