Rahul Gandhi to Launch Discussion on Electoral Reforms in Lok Sabha

Congress Intensifies Assault on 'Vote Theft' Allegations at Delhi Rally, Claiming 'Chori' in BJP's DNA and Calling Their Leaders 'Traitors'
Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, will kick off the debate on election reforms in the Lower House on Tuesday. The opposition has been pressing for a discussion on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Parliament since the monsoon session. However, the government has proposed a debate on election reforms, emphasizing that the Election Commission operates as an independent, autonomous, and constitutional body.
The BJP is likely to present senior leaders Nishikant Dubey, P P Chaudhary, Abhijit Gangopadhyay, and Sanjay Jaiswal for the debate, which is set to span two days.
In addition to Gandhi, the Congress party is expected to include K C Venugopal, Manish Tewari, Varsha Gaikwad, Mohammed Jawed, Ujjwal Raman Singh, Isa Khan, Ravi Mallu, Imran Masood, Gowaal Padavi, and Jothimani in the discussion.
