“Since this was his first team’s offense of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, related to minimum over-rate infractions, Iyer was fined ₹12 lakhs,” the media release indicated.
Bowler Vyshak Vijayakumar and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal collectively captured five wickets, restricting GT to 162 for six.
Despite a shaky batting performance, Punjab crossed the finish line in 19.1 overs, with young Australian batter Cooper Connolly making a remarkable contribution of 72 runs off 44 balls.
