Speaking at a rally in Alipurduar, Modi highlighted the communal violence in Murshidabad and Malda as stark reminders of the TMC regime’s ”cruelty and indifference” towards the struggles of the common people.
”Today, West Bengal faces multiple crises. The people do not want ’Nirmam Sarkar’. They seek change and effective governance. That is why the entirety of Bengal is voicing their rejection of cruelty and corruption,” Modi stated.
”The first crisis involves rampant violence and lawlessness that are tearing the community apart. The second is the increasing insecurity felt by mothers and sisters, exacerbated by the horrific crimes against them,” the PM remarked.
Modi identified the third crisis as the rising despair among the youth, fueled by escalating unemployment and limited opportunities, while the fourth is the ”widespread corruption” that undermines public trust in the system.
”The fifth crisis arises from the self-serving politics of the ruling party, which is depriving the poor of their legitimate entitlements. Events in Murshidabad and Malda starkly illustrate the TMC government’s cruelty and its failure to uphold law and order,” he said.
Turning his criticism towards the West Bengal teacher recruitment scandal, Modi accused the TMC of ”destroying the future of countless teachers and their families” through rampant corruption and irregularities.
”This is not merely the downfall of a few thousand teachers; the entire education system is in decline. Even now, the TMC refuses to acknowledge its errors. Instead, they are scapegoating the courts and the judicial system,” he stated.
He noted that the youth, disadvantaged individuals, and middle-class families of Bengal are suffering the consequences of this corruption and suggested that the populace has lost faith in the TMC government.
The PM also expressed his dismay at the West Bengal government’s absence from the latest Niti Aayog meeting, accusing the TMC of prioritizing politics over development.
