During a pre-summit event organized by Nasscom ahead of the forthcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026, Krishnan expressed that the nation’s ambition to emerge as a global hub for AI applications is a “valid goal”.
He further noted that this would broaden AI accessibility for a diverse range of users.
Krishnan also mentioned IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw’s current trip to Washington to attend a critical minerals meeting led by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
Regarding India’s involvement in the high-level meeting and the invitation to join ‘Pax Silica’ announced by new US envoy Sergio Gor, Krishnan remarked: “It reflects the level of trust India enjoys. It signifies how India is viewed as a dependable and valued partner in key value chains.”

Krishnan emphasized that India is “at the high table” concerning all these significant matters.
“Essentially, it revolves around tackling the supply chain of critical minerals and materials, and it’s crucial for a country like India to be involved. This reflects a recognition of trust,” the IT Secretary concluded.
