The nomination followed a statement from US President Donald Trump on Friday regarding the Nobel Peace Prize, where he asserted he deserves the award for several reasons, including his efforts concerning India and Pakistan, as well as orchestrating a treaty expected to be signed on Monday to resolve hostilities between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda.

According to a post on social media platform X, Pakistan stated that US President Donald Trump should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2026 “in recognition of his decisive diplomatic intervention and pivotal leadership during the recent India-Pakistan crisis”.
Despite disputes from Indian authorities, Trump has consistently claimed to have significantly contributed to alleviating the conflict.
This nomination came after Trump commented on the Nobel Peace Prize last Friday, asserting he merits the prize for multiple reasons, including his initiatives regarding India and Pakistan, along with a treaty he indicated would be finalized on Monday to cease hostilities between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Rwanda.
“I should have received it four or five times,” the president remarked. “They won’t award me a Nobel Peace Prize because they only give it to liberals.”
