Netherlands triumphs over Nepal in a historic T20 match featuring a dramatic triple super over.
The Netherlands triumphed over Nepal in an astonishing match that saw three super overs during a T20 International tri-series, marking a first in the annals of T20 and List A cricket.

Michael Levitt clinched the victory for the Netherlands by hitting a six in the third Super Over on Monday night. After scoring 152 for 7 in their 20 overs, the Dutch appeared to be in a strong position with Nepal requiring 16 runs in the final over.

However, Nepal managed to equal the scores at 152/8, largely thanks to tailender Nandan Yadav, who struck two boundaries, including one off the final ball.
Kushal Bhurtel contributed 18 runs to help Nepal reach 19 in the first Super Over, but opener Max O’Dowd responded by blasting a six and a four off the last two balls of the Dutch innings to equal the scores once more.

In the second Super Over, the Netherlands batted first and set a target of 17. Yet again, it wasn’t sufficient as Dipendra Singh Airee launched Kyle Klein’s last delivery over the boundary, pushing the match to a historic third super over.

Dutch off-spin all-rounder Zach Lion-Cachet made quick work of Nepal’s over by taking two wickets in four deliveries without conceding any runs.

With just one run needed for victory in the third Super Over, Levitt concluded this remarkable contest in style, sending the first ball of Sandeep Lamichhane’s over soaring for six.

The hosts, Scotland, are the third team participating in the T20 tri-series.
