MSI debuted two high-end QD-OLED gaming monitors, both of which can run at up to 500Hz of refresh rate while delivering high visual fidelity and quick response.
MSI Shows Off Its First 500Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitors at Computex: MPG 271QR X50 and MAG 272QP
MSI has unveiled two of its most powerful gaming monitors to date, both featuring a QD-OLED panel from Samsung. These are equipped with Samsung Display’s latest 3rd-gen QD-OLED panel to improve visual fidelity and remain ultra-responsive, which enhances the gaming and multimedia viewing experience.
Both are 27-inch gaming monitors, featuring 2560x1440p resolution with up to a staggering 500 Hz refresh rate. With such fluidity, gaming feels buttery smooth, and since the response time is as little as 0.03ms GtG, the frame transition time is almost negligible, making these perfect for eSports gaming. That said, MSI says that these monitors bring “groundbreaking AI-powered technology” for reliability and experience.
With the AI Care Sensor, the monitor leverages the power of an NPU-based iC that can capture images every 0.2 seconds. This feature helps detect users and track human forms with great accuracy for allowing dynamic adjustments to the settings. Another feature is MSI’s OLED Care, which aims to protect the monitor screens from burn-in, which is a common phenomenon on OLED panels.
The first monitor is the MPG 271QR QD-OLED X50, which boasts powerful specs for an enthusiast gaming experience. Able to achieve up to 500Hz refresh rate, this is one of the world’s first 2K QD-OLED gaming monitors. The monitor brings ClearMR 21000 and DisplayHDR True Black 500 certifications for excellent and crisp visuals, which will be excellent for all-around use.
The second monitor, MAG 272QP QD-OLED X50, is a similar one except for the absence of the AI Care Sensor. It also boasts 2K resolution, a 500Hz refresh rate, and 0.03ms of GtG response time for a great gaming experience. Detailed specifications of these monitors aren’t yet public, and MSI hasn’t announced the pricing and availability of these monitors.
Expect these to be quite expensive, since the existing high-end QD-OLED models from MSI like the MAG 271QPX already touch $700, while they ship with a lower refresh rate and previous-gen QD-OLED panels.
