Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) achieved their first Indian Premier League (IPL) title by narrowly beating the Punjab Kings (PBKS) by six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

With this victory, they have joined a prestigious group of teams that have claimed the coveted trophy over the years.

This marks the first occurrence of a new champion since 2013, when the Mumbai Indians (MI) secured their initial championship. For the past 12 years, the league has witnessed only repeated victors.

Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) stand as the most successful franchises in IPL history, each holding five titles. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) follow closely, with three championships, secured in 2012, 2014, and 2024.

Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have one title each, while the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have claimed the trophy twice (2009 and 2016). Their initial victory came under the name Deccan Chargers before they were rebranded when ownership changed in 2012.
