The BMC has released the final electoral rolls on its official website, revealing a total of 1,03,44,315 voters spread across all 227 wards.
The significant elections for 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra, including affluent Mumbai, on January 15
will witness the ruling Mahayuti and the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) vying for electoral dominance in the state’s key urban areas. The counting of votes is set for January 16.
The Maharashtra State Election Commission (SEC) made this announcement on Monday, December 15.
In Mumbai, among the 1.3 crore eligible voters, there are 55,16,707 males, 48,26,509 females, and 1,077 classified as “other voters”.

According to the civic body’s statistics,, there were 91,80,497 voters in Mumbai during the 2017 elections, comprising 50,30,363 males, 41,49,753 females, and 381 categorized as ‘other’ voters.
The data indicates that polling ward 164, situated within the civic body’s administrative ‘L’ ward, boasts the highest voter count at 62,945, followed closely by polling ward 66 in ‘K-West’ ward with 61,799 voters.
Polling ward 142 in ‘M-East’ ward registers the lowest number of voters at 31,575, while polling ward 1 in ‘R-North’ ward has 31,916 voters.
Among the 1,077 other voters, polling ward 34 under ‘P-North’ ward leads with 281, followed by 111 in polling ward 124 under ‘N’ ward.

The Maharashtra State Election Commission confirmed on Monday the election schedule for 29 municipal corporations, including Mumbai.
This will be the first civic poll in Mumbai in nearly nine years, since the last elections occurred in 2017.
The five-year term of the BMC corporators concluded on March 7, 2022. Since then, the municipal commissioner has overseen the daily operations of the civic body as the state-appointed administrator.
