Lockheed Martin to increase production of Patriot PAC-3 missiles threefold as part of a seven-year agreement with the U.S.
Lockheed Martin announced on Tuesday that it has finalized a seven-year agreement with the US Department of War to boost the annual production capacity for its PAC-3 missile interceptors from approximately 600 units to 2,000 units per year.

The demand for the PAC-3, or Patriot Advanced Capability missile interceptors, has surged as the US and its allied nations enhance air defense systems in light of increasing geopolitical tensions.

In addition to the US, Lockheed Martin provides PAC-3 to sixteen other nations, including Sweden, Qatar, Japan, and Poland.
The Patriot system is also among the defense supplies the West has sent to Ukraine amid its ongoing fight against Russia’s invasion.

In 2025, Lockheed Martin delivered 620 units of the Patriot missile. Over the past two years, production has increased by 60%.

Lockheed Martin will collaborate with the US government towards an initial contract award, anticipated in the final fiscal year 2026 Congressional appropriations.

In September 2025, the Bethesda, Maryland-based company secured a $9.8 billion contract for 1970 Patriot missiles, marking the largest order ever made for this weapon.
