Israel Iran War Live Updates: The United States and the United Kingdom have reiterated their collective position regarding Iran’s nuclear ambitions. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio shared on X following a discussion with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, stating that both nations agree Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons.
In light of increasing tensions, the Indian government has launched an evacuation operation to bring back its citizens currently in Israel. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on Thursday, June 19, that the operation, dubbed Operation Sindhu, will support Indian nationals desiring to return home.
The ministry specified that the evacuation will be conducted via land routes and subsequently by air to India.
Meanwhile, in Washington, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt conveyed a statement from US President Donald Trump, who is considering his next steps. “Given the significant possibility of negotiations that may or may not occur with Iran soon, I will decide on my course of action within the next two weeks,” Trump remarked, as relayed by Leavitt.
Tensions between Israel and Iran have heightened following Iranian missile strikes that injured at least 240 individuals in Israel, including 80 at Soroka Medical Centre. In retaliation, Israel launched renewed assaults on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, specifically targeting the Arak heavy water reactor.
