Messi arrived in Jamnagar after completing his last public engagements in New Delhi earlier that same day. His visit to Vantara, the wildlife rehabilitation and conservation center backed by the Reliance group, is primarily private, with stringent security measures in place. He is joined by his Inter Miami teammates Luis Suárez and Rodrigo de Paul.
The Jamnagar stop signifies the final leg of Messi’s jam-packed itinerary in India. Earlier on Monday, the Argentine star spent time at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, engaging with fans, kicking footballs into the audience, and taking a lap around the field to roaring applause. During this event, ICC Chairman Jay Shah gifted Messi a bat and India’s jersey for the forthcoming T20 World Cup.
Messi’s tour in India commenced in Kolkata on Saturday morning, followed by a visit to Hyderabad later that day. On Sunday, he proceeded to Mumbai before making his way to the national capital for the concluding segment of the tour.
This marks Messi’s first visit to India since 2011, generating considerable public enthusiasm.
