The Government of India organizes the Kailash Manasarovar Yatra every year from June to September via two authorized routes — the Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand, utilized since 1981, and the Nathu La Pass in Sikkim, active since 2015.

The Yatra is regarded as one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Hinduism and also holds significance for adherents of Jainism and Buddhism. It involves the demanding trek to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, situated in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.
