Iran has granted permission for India and several other ‘friendly nations,’ including China and Russia, to utilize the Strait of Hormuz for commercial shipping, stated Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi.

“We have allowed certain countries that we regard as friendly to transit through (Strait of Hormuz). We have permitted China, Russia, India, Iraq, and Pakistan to pass,” Araghchi noted, according to Iranian State TV.

New Delhi believes that if the blockade of this shipping lane persists, there could be significant repercussions for fuel and fertilizer security affecting several nations, including India.
