India faces injury concern as Washington Sundar is sidelined for the rest of the ODIs against New Zealand.
India’s preparations for their Twenty20 World Cup title defence encountered a setback after all-rounder Washington Sundar was sidelined for the remaining two One-Day Internationals against New Zealand due to rib discomfort.

Sundar felt pain in his left lower rib while bowling during Sunday’s opening ODI, which India clinched by four wickets. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed this update in an official statement, noting that the all-rounder will sit out the rest of the series as a precaution.

With the T20 World Cup just weeks away, Sundar’s condition will be closely monitored by the team management.
“He will undergo additional scans, after which the BCCI medical team will consult with specialists,” the statement stated.

Spin-bowling all-rounder Sundar is included in a 15-man roster for the World Cup starting on February 7, which India is co-hosting alongside Sri Lanka.

Sundar’s replacement, Ayush Badoni, will join the ODI squad in Rajkot for the second match against New Zealand on Sunday.
