India expands visa validity and eliminates overstay fees for foreigners affected by events in West Asia.
The Consulate General of India in Dubai has implemented temporary relief measures for foreign nationals currently stranded in India due to ongoing events in West Asia. These measures include visa extensions and the waiver of overstay penalties.

In a notice released on March 13, the consulate stated that the government has decided to extend all types of visas and e-visas that are set to expire soon by one month without any fee.

The extensions will be handled by the respective Foreigners Regional Registration Offices (FRRO) on an individual basis for those affected.
Furthermore, authorities have chosen to waive any penalties for overstay for affected nationals after February 28, provided the delay is linked to the current situation in West Asia.

As part of these measures, exit permits will be issued at no cost to foreign nationals requiring to leave India. The notice indicated that not applying for an exit permit or visa extension under these circumstances will not be regarded as a breach of migration laws.

Additionally, the government will issue Temporary Landing Permits (TLP) at no charge to foreign nationals arriving in India due to flight diversions related to the regional situation.

These actions aim to ease travel and ensure immigration compliance for foreign nationals affected by disruptions in air travel and movement associated with the circumstances in West Asia, according to the notice.
