Indian batsman Virat Kohli achieved his 54th ODI century during a nail-biting run chase against New Zealand in Indore on Sunday. Kohli has been single-handedly leading the second innings, standing firm as wickets fell at the other end.
He reached this milestone in 91 balls, comprising eight fours and two sixes. This marks Kohli’s 85th international century, trailing only behind Sachin Tendulkar, who holds the record with 100 centuries.
Moreover, this is the seventh occasion he has crossed the century mark against New Zealand in ODIs, the highest for any player against them in 50-over matches.
