How Ravi Bishnoi Improved His Bowling to Bounce Back in IPL 2026
Rajasthan Royals (RR) spinner Ravi Bishnoi attributed his enhanced performances this season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to the lessons learned from the previous year. In 2025, Bishnoi recorded just nine wickets across 11 matches while playing for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), but made a remarkable comeback with a four-wicket haul against the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday.

“Last season was tough,” Bishnoi remarked after receiving the player of the match award at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

“I identified a weakness; if my length was off, I was getting hit for boundaries.
“I played an entire domestic season and focused on refining my lengths. By hitting my lengths consistently, I made it hard for batters, although I still got hit when I over-pitched today.”

This strategy was evident in his commendable performance.

Bishnoi outsmarted Sai Sudharsan and Glenn Phillips with his googlies, and also took the wicket of Washington Sundar before capturing the crucial wicket of Rahul Tewatia late in the chase.

“All four wickets are personal favorites, but Rahul’s wicket was particularly significant since it occurred at a critical moment,” he stated.

“He’s known as a finisher, and had he remained, the game could have gone in any direction.”

Rajasthan secured a tense victory, with Gujarat pushing hard to chase down 211 runs.

Gujarat needed 15 runs from the final two overs with three wickets still in play, but Jofra Archer conceded only four runs in a stellar penultimate over, while Tushar Deshpande matched that effort to thwart their chase.

Currently, IPL leaders Rajasthan share four points from two matches with Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, but hold the advantage with a superior net run rate.
