This contract entails the construction of two luxury river cruise vessels intended for use on the Brahmaputra River, with the goal of enhancing premium inland waterway tourism in India. The first agreement has been officially signed, while a Letter of Intent (LOI) has been issued for the second vessel.
Antara River Cruises, known for its unique voyages along the Ganga, Padma, and Brahmaputra river systems, currently boasts a fleet of custom luxury cruise vessels that navigate South Asia’s most iconic rivers.

The flagship vessel, Ganga Vilas, offers the world’s longest and most scenic river cruise. This remarkable journey, prominently featured in the Limca Book of Records, spans over 3,200 kilometres, covering 27 rivers and traversing various regions such as the Gangetic plains, the Sundarbans, and the Brahmaputra Valley.
Cochin Shipyard confirmed that this order does not qualify as related party transactions and that none of its promoters or group companies have any interests in the awarding entity.
Shares of Cochin Shipyard Limited closed at ₹2,231.05, marking an increase of ₹49.85, or 2.29%, on the BSE.
