On Thursday, April 2, state-owned Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) announced a consistent increase in production for FY 2025–26. The company’s preliminary figures indicated a metal in concentrate (MIC) production of 27,421 tonnes for FY26, reflecting a 9% rise compared to the previous year.
Ore production also saw a 6% year-on-year increase, reaching 3.67 million tonnes, showcasing enhanced operational efficiency across its mining assets.
Q3 results
During the December quarter, the company experienced a significant boost in earnings. Net profit surged to ₹156 crore, more than double the ₹63 crore from the same period last year, while revenue jumped to ₹687.3 crore from ₹327.8 crore. EBITDA rose over 100% to ₹244.4 crore, with margins increasing to 35.6% from 32.9% in the previous year.
Looking forward, management has projected around 20% volume growth in FY26, with margins anticipated to stay above 40%. The company also reported a cost of production around $5,500 per tonne, positioning it well to take advantage of stable copper prices.
Shares of Hindustan Copper Ltd closed slightly lower on Thursday, April 2, down 0.17% at ₹495.15 on the NSE.
