Iyer will assume Marketplace CFO duties in addition to his current roles in Corporate Development, Group Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Investor Relations, and the CEO’s office, according to the internal email.
“In light of these additional responsibilities, he will collaborate closely with leaders across all functions and business units and will continue reporting to me,” Sriram Venkataraman noted in the memo.
The appointment is effective immediately and aims to enhance Flipkart’s finance leadership while fostering greater collaboration throughout the organization to achieve its goals for the year, Venkataraman mentioned in the email.
Venkataraman will maintain his role as CFO of the Flipkart Group. The Marketplace CFO position had been unfilled since Sakait Chaudhary, the previous occupant, was elevated to Marketplace lead. Since that time, Venkataraman had been overseeing both the Group CFO and Marketplace CFO roles.
Flipkart did not respond to Moneycontrol’s inquiries regarding this development.
As part of the organizational adjustments, Kannan Ganesan, Vice President – Business Finance Head, Amit Sood, Business Finance Head – eKart, and Ashish Surana, Lead – FP&A, Flipkart, will now report to Iyer, effective immediately.
Iyer has been with Flipkart for over 11 years, while Venkataraman has been with the company for nearly a decade.
These changes come against a backdrop of intensifying competition in the e-commerce and quick commerce markets and align with Flipkart’s ongoing transition of its domicile from Singapore to India in preparation for a planned IPO.
