Farmers Receive No Funds, Yet MLAs Have Cash? Danve's Video Sparks Debate
A political uproar in Maharashtra has escalated following a video shared by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve, featuring a man beside stacks of cash, with Danve questioning who the MLA is and what he is doing with such a large sum.

The clip was accompanied by a pointed caption that criticized the government for claiming it “has no funds for farm loan waivers, yet everything else is fine,” tagging the chief minister, both deputy chief ministers, and senior central leaders.

Shortly afterward, Shiv Sena MLA Mahendra Dalvi appeared on News18 Lokmat, vehemently denying any connection to the person seen with the cash. He stated he has no involvement with the money or the location shown in the video and asserted that the clip has been altered to include his image.
Dalvi challenged Danve to provide clear evidence in front of the legislature that shows him actually sitting next to the cash; if so, he is willing to resign as an MLA. He emphasized that he has “no connection at all” with the money visible in the clip.

When asked about the possibility of filing a defamation suit, Dalvi remarked that Danve isn’t worth such a response and expressed no desire to pursue that path. He noted that no senior leaders have contacted him regarding the video and dared Danve to present proof in the legislature and to the media.

The controversy arises during a crucial period, as the winter session of the Maharashtra legislature is ongoing, and the Opposition has been critical of the government regarding farmer distress and the overdue demand for loan waivers following severe rains and crop damage in various regions of the state.
