A committee discovered irregularities in the election process of the BCB, as stated by the NSC’s sports director, Mohammed Aminul Ahesan, during a press briefing in Dhaka.
“We have notified the International Cricket Council (ICC) that this board of directors was improperly formed, and is unable to fulfill its duties effectively,” Ahesan remarked.
“We believe that the ICC will certainly support this decision.”
The former board of directors was led by Aminul Islam, who was responsible for Bangladesh’s decision to decline a visit to India for this year’s Twenty20 World Cup due to safety issues.
Scotland replaced Bangladesh in the tournament.
Tamim, who has played 391 matches for Bangladesh across all formats, will head an 11-member ad-hoc committee tasked with managing the BCB.
Bangladesh is set to host New Zealand in a series that includes three one-day internationals, three T20s, and two tests commencing on April 17.
