EaseMyTrip to Advocate for Battlefield Tourism as a Statement Against War
EaseMyTrip is promoting battlefield tourism to arrange tours to historical battle sites, including Kargil, Russia-Ukraine, Vietnam, and Italy. Co-founder Rikant Pittie stated that the initiative aims to convey that war is detrimental to everyone.

In an interview with CNBC-TV18, following his participation in a CEOs roundtable co-chaired by India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal in Paris, Pittie encouraged European companies to hold their board meetings in India’s diverse scenic locations.

He advocated for an international startup bridge between India and France to accelerate the growth of companies in both nations, highlighting that India’s varied talent pool could benefit the high-tech sector in France. Pittie projected that bilateral trade could expand from $15 billion to $50 billion between India and France.
Discussing the shifting concept of luxury with the rise of experiential tourism, he noted that travelers are moving away from traditional 5-star hotels toward AirBNBs, unique destinations, personalized experiences, and health tourism.

He referred to the growing trend of camping near pilgrimage sites as “glamping,” announcing that the company is launching an initiative called “easy Darshan” to educate devotees on rituals at temples. He mentioned that tourist bookings to Turkiye and Azerbaijan have been halted due to both countries’ support of Pakistan during Operation Sindoor, resulting in a cancellation of 65%-70% of prior bookings from India through his company.

In addition, he revealed that the company has initiated plans to manufacture electric buses and has submitted bids for tenders from the Madhya Pradesh government.
