Munir arrived in Washington on Sunday (June 15) for a five-day official trip aimed at strengthening military and strategic ties between Pakistan and the US, as reported by Dawn.
Previously, there were claims that Munir had been invited to attend the US military parade in Washington DC. However, the White House later refuted these assertions, stating no foreign military leaders were invited to the event.
“This is untrue. No foreign military leaders were invited,” a White House representative informed the media, according to The Hindu.
General Munir was recently elevated to the rank of Field Marshal. He has served as the nation’s 11th chief of army staff since 2022, becoming only the second person in Pakistan’s history to achieve the title of field marshal, following former president Ayub Khan.
