CSK celebrated their first win of the season with an impressive performance against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the same location on Saturday, thanks to a brilliant 115* run innings from Sanju Samson.
Dewald Brevis has rejoined the squad, bolstering the batting lineup, although there is uncertainty regarding MS Dhoni’s involvement due to a calf strain that has kept him out of action this season.
Gurjapneet Singh made a notable impression in his IPL debut, while Jamie Overton shone with figures of 4-0-18-4 in the last match. Akeal Hosein also made his season debut, starting the bowling with an economical two overs for 20 runs.
Nevertheless, CSK will be hoping their captain Ruturaj Gaikwad finds his form after a few lackluster performances this season.
KKR eager to achieve a victory
On the other hand, KKR is keen to find success. They narrowly missed a win against the Lucknow Super Giants, as Mukul Choudhary’s outstanding innings thwarted Ajinkya Rahane and his team.
Cameron Green finally took the field for KKR in the last match, and the all-rounder seeks to prove his hefty price tag with a standout performance at Chepauk.
In a similar vein, Rinku Singh is looking to make a mark in the middle-order, and Tuesday could present an opportunity for him.
Rahane has performed decently with the bat, while Ankrish Raghuvanshi has also made an impact for KKR.
Rovman Powell and Green contributed runs against LSG late in the innings, which is a positive sign for the struggling team.
Vaibhav Arora delivered well initially but faced the brunt of Choudhary’s attack in KKR’s last outing, including a crucial six over deep cover in the final over.
Having come close against LSG, KKR will be aiming to secure their first win of the IPL against CSK.
