All Strikes Lanes on Telegraph Road has undergone many renovations since it opened, and more are on the way.
TOLEDO, Ohio — All Strikes Lanes in west Toledo is celebrating three years in business with major renovations, renewed community engagement and plans for future expansion.
The bowling alley on Telegraph Road has undergone significant changes since opening under new ownership in 2022.
Owner Lakeila Carter took over the facility three years ago and immediately began a series of renovations aimed at reviving the space.
“Before when you guys were in, we were getting the lanes renovated,” Carter said. “The past three months, we’ve renovated the whole building.”
The improvements include fresh murals, new paint and upgraded equipment, which regulars say have made a noticeable difference.
Hansani Lamb, who has bowled at the location for over a decade, praised the transformation.
“The approach, everything has changed,” he said. “One of the biggest bowling alleys in Toledo, Ohio. Black-owned is a bonus.”
Employee Alan Pixley echoed that sentiment, also noting that the alley’s upgraded systems have improved the overall experience.
“Seeing what it used to be, we used to have a lot of breakdowns,” Pixley said. “Now that they’ve been putting the money into the place, making [it] back to what it used to be in its former glory, it’s fun.”
To celebrate the milestone, Carter hosted a three-year anniversary event for customers Friday night, which included giveaways like bicycles, televisions and bowling balls.
“I wanted to give back to show my appreciation of the return of customers, of the league bowlers, of my community,” she said.
For Lamb, the significance of a Black woman owning and operating a space like All Strikes Lanes goes beyond bowling.
“Whether it’s a bowling alley, a basketball team, a football team, NFL, NBA. Unity in the community. If we’ve got all of that, we’re undefeated,” he said.
She said future upgrades are in the works, including the addition of an outdoor volleyball court, as she continues to grow the business and deepen its ties to the community.
