BJP's Gonda unit leader filmed in 'unacceptable' behavior with a woman; party issues notice.
Amar Kishore Kashyap, the president of BJP in Gonda district, has received a notice from the party’s Uttar Pradesh leadership following the circulation of a video that allegedly shows him engaging in ‘inappropriate’ conduct with a woman.

Kashyap has been instructed to submit a written explanation regarding the matter within seven days, as reported by PTI.

The footage reportedly captured on April 12 by CCTV cameras located at the party’s district office in Gonda, approximately 120 km from Lucknow, the state capital.
In the video, the Gonda district president seems to be making ‘improper advances’ toward a woman, who is said to be a party member, near the staircase.

A BJP worker previously described the video as ‘shameful’ and filed a formal complaint against Amar Kishore Kashyap with the state leadership.

Kashyap has one week to clarify his actions.

Viral video

NDTV reported that in the CCTV footage, the woman is seen leaving a car at the BJP office in Gonda.

A second video of the incident depicts the woman in a salwar kameez walking up the stairs, with the party leader following her. Shortly after, they both pause, and he puts his arm around her shoulders and hugs her. Following a brief embrace, they part ways as he ascends the stairs while she follows behind.

What Uttar Pradesh BJP said

BJP’s state general secretary, Govind Narayan Shukla, stated that the viral video has revealed behavior that adversely affects the party’s reputation and constitutes indiscipline.

In his notice to Kashyap, Shukla requested that he provide a written explanation to the BJP state office within seven days, as directed by the state president.

“Failure to submit a satisfactory response within the specified time frame will lead to stringent disciplinary measures,” the notice warned.

Amar Kishore Kashyap denies the charge

Kashyap claimed that the woman contacted him to express that she was feeling unwell and requested a place to rest.

He stated that he drove her to the BJP office for this reason.

Kashyap further asserted that while they were on the stairs, she began to feel dizzy, prompting him to hold her hand for support. “The footage is being misused to tarnish my image,” he remarked.
