BCCI secures ₹270 crore sponsorship agreement with Google’s Gemini in anticipation of IPL 2026.

Jammu & Kashmir Claims First BCCI Title as Its U-16 Team Secures Vijay Merchant Trophy in Plate Group
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly entered into a sponsorship agreement with Google’s AI platform Gemini, valued at around ₹270 crore.

The contract will span three years and is expected to kick off with the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

This agreement comes as AI companies are increasingly making their mark in Indian cricket. Notably, ChatGPT, another AI platform, is currently sponsoring the Women’s Premier League (WPL).

This development follows a shift in the sponsorship landscape due to regulatory changes. Last year, a ban on real money gaming by the Indian government prompted platforms like Dream11 to withdraw from cricket sponsorships. Meanwhile, Apollo Tyres acquired the rights to sponsor the national team jersey in a separate deal worth ₹579 crore.

The Tata Group still holds the title sponsorship rights for the IPL through a long-term contract.

The 2026 IPL season is scheduled to take place from March 26 to May 31, and the Gemini partnership is anticipated to significantly enhance league branding and engagement initiatives.

“From leading global brands in AI, manufacturing, and beverages to established Indian consumer names, this diverse partnership mix will be crucial in shaping the fan experience and bolstering the growth of women’s cricket,” a source informed Economic Times.
